Hubby and I are planning to take my little girl to RWC 2011. She'll be three, and so will need to be on a lap. Finding it really hard to find out what the rules are for tinies - From 6 nations and other friends experience, usually under 4s on knees are either free, or need to buy an 'entry ticket' but not seat ticket if sitting on knees.

Gets more complicated with packages and flights. Some airlines have cheaper child tickets, some hotels are free in room, some have a small charge (she's too little to have her own room)

Anyone got experience of this, or know what the situation is re RWC 2011 venues (we'd be following wales if that helps?

Hi Sarah

Thank you for your message. Generally speaking, with airfares, any child between 2-12 years pays 50% of the adult fare. With respect to hotels, we will have a clearer idea of which properties we are offering by April/May and once you have seen our brochure and decided what appeals, we will be able to work out the child cost for you. Again, we will have a better idea concerning match tickets by May so my advice is to register your details on our website (if you haven’t done so already) and we will then be in touch with any updates over the next few weeks. I hope this helps.

Many thanks

Phil

Dear Sarah,

Thanks for the advice. If it helps expedite things at all, as part of my general fish, discovered the following info from the RWC 2011 site contact form.
As you can see, NZ rugby doesn't appear very wriggler friendly at all, compared to the approach taken at twickers, flaminio and the marvellous millenium stadium.
Still up for it though, so looking forward to Gullivers announcing their packages.

Thank you for your email & interest in RWC 2011.

Your daughter will need to have her own ticket for any game that she
attends.

Ticket prices for children aged 15 or under will be available within
Category D & the GA Price Categories for pool matches and the Bronze
Final, if available at the venue. Children's tickets will not be
available for the quarter-finals, semi-finals or final.

Please see the below link for prices of children's tickets for all pool
matches
