Looking to go and watch some of the Ashes tests in Aus next winter and have never done a tour like this before. Looking for advice on anyone who have done these tours and/or intending to go on this one. Costs, accomodation and do's and don'ts etc? Would love to go Perth, Melbourne and Sydney, some organised one maybe independantly(Perth)

Hi - Great to hear you are thinking of going on one of the Ashes tours. It's aways a fantastic trip and a great atmosphere out there. The tours are now all on sale as of this week, so have a look on the website for full details of each of the itineraries, the costs and accommodation, and what other extras are included. If you would like to have a chat about touring, and the options we can offer regarding seeing the Perth Test before Melbourne and Sydney please give us a call on 01684 293 175.

I'm pleased to see like minded people have posted the same sort of questions i would like the answers to, despite Gullivers being slightly dearer than other quotes i've had, it is very reassuring to know that they offer a tour manager for each of the tours that they offer.

I personally am seriously looking at going to the Koala 2 tour, as this offers the opportunatey to see the final 2 two tests in Melbourne and Sydney as well as getting to visit two major cities in Australia, and obviously an opportunatey to celebrate Christmas and New Year in a different country.

As i will be probably be going on my own, i have been trying to gather as much research as possible, but if previous travellers have been before whether that's to the ashes or another cricket tour i would very much appreciate your comments.

Having been on about twelve tours with Gullivers, split between being in a small group & travelling 'alone', I find that you are always made welcome - and I hope I have done the same to others. If you wish to do your own thing at any time nobody minds, otherwise I find that little groups do arise but over a two or three week tour you get to meet everybody.
One thing about touring is that you always meet up with old friends from previous tours and of course, the more you tour the more friends you make. people you often meet at grounds over here as well as overseas.
Everyone may be from different backgrounds but they all have one common link; they all love cricket so it can be a great mix.
One of the great things about Gullivers trips is that a lot of the worrying & organising is done by the tour managers & staff - they helped me so much when I missed a flight last year. I have always had the greatest admiration for Gullivers staff on all my cricket & rugby trips; they do the background work so that you can spend as much time enjoying yourself, and they are all so approachable.
One downside is that when you travel with a large group you always have to wait for the last person (take note all you latecomers!) but that is a small price to pay.
I am going to Brisbane & Adelaide and can't wait!

I can definitely recommend tours in Australia. I have already been on two Australian tours and am going again. Soak in the Sun - locals are friendly. Plenty of cricket banter! All the organisation done for you.
Get yourselves out there!
